Make The Clothes That Make The Woman - McCall's 1956 Part 2

Let's look at more of this McCall's catalog from April 1956. This has some Fashion Excitement for the young, patterns featured in Mademoiselle, the empire silhouette for brides and maybe best of all Givenchy designs, direct from Paris!

  1. How awesome. I love vintage patterns or even vintage pattern images to inspire my sewing. Thanks for sharing.

  2. Oh, these are so elegant and ladylike. I just know that if I wore the pattern 3611 with the bow I would FEEL more elegant. Thank you for sharing.

  3. I know! But I was noticing that slim or full skirted the common thing is that tiny waist. Really smooth and I'm afraid that even with serious underwear I could never wear these, but I can dream. :-)

  5. that McCall's 3611 (pink sheath): My mom made that dress style in 1956 with a black linen slender skirt and red bandana print empire bodice. It was adorable!
